When it comes to Estate Planning, Moustakis Law LLC is unique from other Law Firms because it offers the following:
Family Inheritance System
We have developed and refined a process that puts all the pieces of the estate planning process together for our clients as their lives unfold. Known as the Family Inheritance System, this is an additional value to the traditional estate planning process that a client can participate in.
Consultation - The initial consultation is free of charge to the client. At this meeting we discuss what the client’s interests are and what the client would like to accomplish
Roadmap - We devise an inheritance plan for the client based on the client’s goals and interest and we explain to the client how we will achieve those interests
Plan Creation - We collect and organize all of the information obtained through the client meetings and prepare the documents necessary to achieve the client’s interests
Plan Execution - The client executes the documents by signing all of the documents necessary to put the plan in place
Family Meeting - The client can invite his or her personal representative, children or family to the office to discuss “what it might look like” when the client passes away. This piece of the puzzle is unique to our firm and can be crucial to ensuring a smooth process when the client passes away.
Estate Planning for New Parents
When parents have their first child they are overcome with joy, and in some sense, a deep worry as to the well-being of the child if anything were to happen to them. Understanding this concern, we have developed a process to help new parents achieve peace of mind that if anything where to happen to them, there are estate planning mechanisms in place to care for the new child.
Annual Communication and Update System
In order to keep a client’s estate plan up to date and in top working order, the Law Firm provides an Annual Communication and Update System to streamline minor changes to a person’s existing estate plan. An annual meeting is included with the System in order to determine what, if any, changes should be made to a person’s estate plan. Once the changes are identified the Law Office will update the client’s existing estate plan to reflect such changes.
This System is intended to be a client privilege offered at a reduced rate to current and former clients as a way to thank them for their continued loyalty.
Estate Planning for New College Students
When young adults enter college for the first time, they are embarking on an exciting and adventurous time in their lives. Most young adults are leaving home for the first time and will be living apart from their families. Such times can be a concern among parents as they realize that their young adult children will be off on their own will want to help the young adults get all of their ducks in a row. However, one often overlooked aspect is the young adults need for some basic estate planning. We provide a “New College Student Affordable Estate Planning Package” for such an event, and the package can include:
HIPAA Release Form
Health Care Proxy
Durable Power of Attorney for Education
We are a tech savvy firm that embraces technology and finds ways to make things easier for our clients, especially when it comes to estate planning. After all, once you set up a Will, you shouldn’t just have it sit in your lawyer’s desk, but you should be able to access it when you need it.
Furthermore, it has become increasingly common for people to conduct all of their transactions online leaving behind almost little to no paper trail as to what assets they own. However, Massachusetts law relating to online accounts for a deceased or incapacitated person is not settled. Therefore it should be assumed that a Personal Representative or Attorney-In-Fact will not have access to these accounts. As a result, we can provide some insights to its clients on how to handle certain digital assets.
A Pet Trust is a legal arrangement to care for a pet or animal. It can give a pet owner peace of mind by knowing there is a mechanism in place to ensure that his or her pets experience the same quality of life they had when their owners were alive. In fact, between twelve and twenty-seven percent of pet owners include their pets in their estate planning. Because Attorney Moustakis owns a horse, he understands the unique circumstances horse owners face when it comes to planning for their animals, therefore he has developed a true passion for this area of law. As a result, whether the pet is a horse or a cat, our Firm can help its clients create a Trust intended to benefit their animals.
