When someone knows that their time on this earth is coming to an end, they are overcome with a number of emotions. They often reflect on their lives and the road that led them to where they are now. This time can also be difficult for the person’s family and so they look for a way to help ease the burden on the family by “getting their affairs in order.” Below is a brief and non-exhaustive discussion of some things a person should consider as they prepare for death.
Meeting with an attorney makes a lot of sense. The attorney can help a person create a Will and/or Trust so the person’s property gets passed down at death the way the person intended. The attorney can also look at other questions involving title to property that may be in dispute.
